What we collect, and when

When you send us a message

The contact form asks for your name, email address, what your message is about, and the message itself. A phone number is optional. We use these to reply to you and for nothing else.

When you offer gear

The Diamond Harvest form asks for your name, email address, city, state, a description of the gear, and roughly how many items. A phone number is optional. We use these to arrange pickup or drop-off, and to keep track of what's coming in.

When you join the email list

We keep your email address and which page you signed up from. We use it to send occasional news about gatherings and where donated gear is going.

When you give

Online gifts are handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never pass through or get stored on this website. Stripe tells us the gift was made and sends your receipt. Stripe's own privacy policy covers what it does with payment information.

When you simply visit

We count visits so we know which pages people find useful. To do that we record which page was viewed, the date, and the name of the website that linked you here if there was one. To avoid counting the same person twice in a day, we combine your network address and browser type with the date and turn them into a scrambled code that can't be reversed. We don't store your network address itself, the code is useless the following day, and we can't use it to identify you.

Cookies

If you're just visiting, this site sets no cookies at all. The only cookie it ever sets is a login cookie for the people who manage the site, and it only appears once they sign in.

Who else is involved

We don't sell, rent or trade your information to anyone. A few services make the site work, and each sees only what it needs:

• Hosting and database. The site runs on Render and stores its information in a Neon database. They hold the data on our behalf and don't use it for themselves.
• Google Fonts. The typefaces on this site load from Google, which means your browser contacts Google when a page opens, and Google can see your network address when it does.
• Stripe. Handles online gifts, as described above.
• Spotify and Apple Podcasts. We link to them. If you follow a link, you leave this site and their policies apply.

We'd only share information beyond this if the law required it.

How long we keep it

Messages and gear offers stay until we've dealt with them and no longer need them, or until you ask us to remove them. Email addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe or ask. Visit counts are anonymous and we clear them out periodically.

What you can ask us to do

Email us and we'll tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. To come off the email list, reply to any email we send or write to us directly. We'll act on requests promptly and won't ask you to explain why.

Children

Our ministry serves young players, but this website is written for the adults around them: parents, coaches and donors. The forms here aren't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us something, let us know and we'll delete it.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over an encrypted connection, the management area is password protected, and access to what's stored is limited to the people who run His Show. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable care with what you give us.

If this changes

When we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
